For our client we are looking for a Senior Cloud/Platform Architect (DevOps) (m/f/d)
The project uses a modular platform that integrates forecasting, planning and operational realtime transparency. It consolidates load, generation and renewable forecasts with outage planning and deployment schedules into a single system for control rooms. A reduced version of this platform will be delivered as a proof of concept to enable interconnection between the four German transmission system operators. Data exchange for the Proof of Concept will use the Kafka protocol. The engagement covers building the necessary infrastructure and delivering and commissioning existing or newly developed components across target environments, including cloudnative and cloudnative onpremise installations.

Your Tasks
- Investigate and document suitable target platforms
- Define implementation packages for the PoC
- Select relevant existing components for reuse
- Package components for deployment
- Provide example deployments for target platforms, including Kubernetes and OpenShift
- Implement features and submodules
- Conduct code reviews and give feedback to developers
- Produce technical specifications, designs and documentation
- Optimize deployments for redundancy and scalability
- Participate in technical meetings and support decision making
- Introduce deployment standards and best practices to the team
- Execute integration tests after deployments across platforms
- Define appropriate design patterns and architectural principles
- Coach and mentor the development team
- Automate build and deployment processes
- Prepare technical roadmaps and effort estimates
- Research technologies and frameworks as required by the project
- Advise on software architecture and support product owners in requirement capture
- Collect and analyse feedback from infrastructure owners for continuous improvement
- Propose security considerations for software development
- Advise the DevOps team on continuous integration and delivery
- Attend project meetings as needed to deliver the service
Your Experience & knowledge
- Extensive DevOps experience
- Proven experience with Kubernetes; OpenShift experience preferable infrastructure contexts
- Knowledge of firewall and DMZ implementation across multiple zones in critical infrastructure
- Good communication skills
- English and ideally German language skills
