For one of our clients in the Energy domain, we are looking for a Data Engineer (f/m/d) with Databricks know-how.

Location: 100% remote (EU)
Languages: English and German, at least C1
Deadline for profiles: 23.10.2026
Important note: We can only present employees to our client - no Freelancers possible. Employees must be employed by a company with at least 3 people.
Tasks:
Development of a centralized and automated monitoring solution for unintended exchange with DK2 (Danish bidding zone), replacing the existing Excel-based solution and enabling efficient analysis, plausibility checks, and assessment of deviations through transparent data management and a traceable evaluation methodology.
Must-haves (each to be shown in personal project references):
A minimum of 3 years of relevant hands-on experience in data engineering, including:
Demonstrable experience in developing data solutions based on Databricks
Very good knowledge of Apache Spark, Spark SQL and distributed data-processing concepts
Very good Python programming skills
Extensive SQL experience, including optimization of complex queries
Demonstrable knowledge of modern Data Lake and Lakehouse architecture
Demonstrable experience in processing large data volumes, including second-resolution time series, and in performance optimization of data-processing workflows
Demonstrable experience in developing monitoring, reporting artifacts/dashboards and analytics applications
Furthermore, the following experiences are expected:
Experience with operational monitoring and alerting concepts in Databricks environments
Experience with dashboard design
Experience in documenting data models, technical interfaces, processing logic and operating procedures
Experience in execution of testing activities, preparation of acceptance documentation and production deployment deliverables for data solutions
Experience in the energy sector or with time-series data from energy-system processes
Experience in time control (UTC, local time and summertime / wintertime change)
