For our client we are looking for a Platform Product Manager (f/m/d).
Start: 02.06.2025
Duration: 30.09.25 (long term engagement (2026))
Capacity: 100% if possible
Location: 75% Remote, 25% Berlin (1 week Berlin / 3 weeks remote in rotation), up to 50% onsite in peak times
Role:
Platform Product Management is a program function within the project, and its project team is responsible for the following:
1. Product Management: Definition of the overall Platform directions, and in collaboration with Product Owners in individual Product Lines, define the strategy and roadmap of individual products making up the Platform.
2. Customer Enablement: Definition and documentation of the cloud-native Reference Architecture to provide prescriptive guidance to application teams (our customers) on how to design and architect cloud-native apps on the platform.
In addition, it is also responsible for defining and documenting the Operating Model for Applications, which offers prescriptive guidance to customers regarding their path to production, from concept to design, development, testing, staging and production.
3. Customer Success: Management of the onboarding of Early Adopter customers to the platform and ensuring that the customers have a delightful experience on it. The project team is also responsible for collecting feedback regarding customer usage and passing them to Product Owners
Profile Requirements:
We are looking for individuals with:
- Broad technical knowledge of services offered in a cloud-native PaaS platform such as:
o Kubernetes
o DevOps practices such as CI/CD, GitOps, Secrets managements
o IAM and RBAC
o Data services such as Relational and NoSQL databases, Kafka, message brokers
o Observability/Monitoring
o Infrastructure automation such as Infrastructure as Code
- Knowledge of capabilities that such a platform must provide to enable Ops/SRE team to reliably operate the platform.
- Product Management leadership experience, specifically in setting up procedures and processes to guide the work of Product Managers/Product Owners to deliver Product Management artifacts (Roadmap, Product Specifications, Feature Backlogs, Product Descriptions etc.)
- Collaborative and co-creation mindset with experience working closely with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey complex technical concepts from a customer/user perspective.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, comfortable in taking decisions informed by the positions (often contrary to your own) of diverse set of stakeholders.
Skills (must-have):
- A minimum experience of 5 years as a Product Manager, including experience in leading a team of Product Managers/Product Owners
- Experience as a Product Manager in delivering a cloud-native PaaS (not just SaaS) platform to customers (internal or external to your organization)
- Demonstrable experience of creating Product Management artifacts (Roadmap, Product Specifications, Feature Backlogs, Product Descriptions etc.) following best-practices Product Management methodology.
- Experience in creating and guiding the development of Product Management artifacts in the voice of users/customers.
- Deep familiarity of Public Cloud (one or more of AWS, GCP, Azure) service offerings, especially those related to:
• Managed Kubernetes service (AKS, GKE, EKS)
• Virtual Private Cloud (network services)
• DevOps services (Cloud Build, Cloud Deploy, Secrets Management etc.)
• Monitoring (Cloud Watch and similar)
- Fluent English in speech and writing (at least C1) to succinctly communicate your point of view to an international team.
Skills (should-have):
- Relevant certifications in cloud and cloud native technologies
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and tools (e.g., Scrum, SAFE, JIRA, Confluence).
- Fluent German in speech and writing (at least B2)
