For our client we are looking for a Platform Architect (f/m/d) for CI/CD in highly-regulated and mission-critical environment

Duration: 31.12.2025 (long term engagement (2026))
Capacity: Full-time (100% preferred)
Location: 75% Remote, 25% Berlin (1 week Berlin / 3 weeks remote in rotation), up to 50% onsite in peak times
Language: English, German is a plus

General Description
The product as a platform (or portfolio of products) consists of currently seven product lines. Each product line is responsible for a subset of products (or sub-portfolio of products) - e.g. all infrastructure products, all data products, etc. Each product line therefore includes also architecture headed by the lead architect (per product line) defining & designing the product architecture of all product within the product line.
Platform Architecture is not designing nor defining a product architecture
but the platform architecture, which means platform architecture is documenting consistency across all product architectures of all product lines for all architectural viewpoints and artifacts.
Platform Architecture therefore coordinates with all (product line) architecture stakeholders to assemble all product line architectures into a platform architecture on the one side as well as on the other translate product strategy for the platform into platform architecture and govern product line architectures.
A key part of the platform architecture work is the design and delivery of a internal CI/CD product that meets all the requirements of this highly-regulated and mission-critical environment.

Scope of work:
Objective: Define an architecture for the CI/CD product that is reliable and trusted by Product Lines for integration and deployment into shared environments

Objective: Ensure the CI/CD product design meets defined non-functional requirements

Objective: Document and communicate architecture decisions using standard tools and practices of the client

Skills (must-have):
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a CTO, part of the Office of the CTO or as platform architect for developer platforms.
- Excellent understanding of cloud and cloud-native architectures & technologies as well as methods & principles.
- Experience to develop and communicate a technology strategy.
- Experience to model, abstract, and and design CI/CD solutions that fit a highly-regulated and core-nationalinfrastructure-supporting environment.
- Experience of platform and product thinking.
- Excellent ability to explain Software Defined Infrastructure, Kubernetes, (Software) Lifecyclemanagement, Automation and providing technolgies as a service.
- Experience in private clouds and their integration into hybrid clouds.
- Experience in the environment of critical infrastructure and understanding of the resulting requirements.
- Experience with distributed applications.
- Experience with distributed DC infrastructure (in particular, no “cloud simply scales” mindset without a resource view).

Skills (should-have):
- Fluent German in speech and writing (at least B2).
