For our client we are looking for a Product Manager (f/m/d) for DevOps Tools

 

Start: 06.10.2025

Duration: 31.12.2025 (long term engagement (2026))

Capacity: Full-time (100% preferred)

Location: 75% Remote, 25% Berlin (1 week Berlin / 3 weeks remote in rotation), up to 50% onsite in peak times

Language: English, German is a plus

 

Role:

The project functions as the DevOps division within a large program, tailored specifically to consult Product Lines that develop and manage the platform itself. This service concentrates on delivering, managing, and optimizing essential DevOps tools that facilitate the ongoing development, integration, and delivery of the platform and its services.

 

Current Focus:

- Continuous Integration Pipeline: Coordinates the management and enhancement of CI pipelines to streamline the program's internal development processes.

- Continuous Deployment Processes: Defines CD strategies for efficient deployment of the platform.

- Artifact and Image Registries: Operates and maintains registries for storing and managing components, libraries, and images vital to platform development and deployment.

 

Future Scope:

The project is set to enhance its capabilities to encompass all development, operations, and quality assurance tooling tailored for the program's

internal needs, ensuring the platform remains stable, scalable, and evolves confidently.

 

Product Management:

At the helm of the project is Product Management responsible for defining the “What” in core DevOps tools consulting. The responsibility involves structuring, designing, and evolving CI pipelines, CD processes, and artifact/ image registries to satisfy the specific requirements of Product Lines associated with the platform.

 

Key Responsibilities:

- Stakeholder Communication: Engages stakeholders and liaises with Product Management at Program Level for alignment with broader project goals.

- Specification & Prioritization: Gathers insights of development and operations needs, translating them into product specifications, requirements, features, and user stories. Prioritizes the project product backlog to ensure maximum value delivery.

- Ensuring Reliability & Efficiency: Guarantees the provision of secure and efficient tools for the continuous development, integration, and delivery of the platform.

 

In essence, the Product Management function within the project facilitates a seamless interaction between development processes and operational needs, embedding robust DevOps practices central to the platform’s continuous improvement and adaptability.

 

Skills (must-have):

- Proven experience as a Product Owner or in Product Management with full accountability for defining and driving product strategy, roadmap, and backlog for technical products

- Extensive hands-on experience with DevOps tools and practices, specifically related to Continuous Integration (CI) pipelines, Continuous Deployment (CD) processes, and artifact/image registries (e.g. Artifactory)

- Experience in Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, including experience with 2-week sprint cycles and quarterly planning processes

- Experience in a product role

- Broad technical knowledge of following services offered in any of the big 3 public clouds (AWS, GCP, Azure):

o Kubernetes

o IAM and RBAC

o Observability/Monitoring

- Experience in Infrastructure automation such as Infrastructure as Code

- Product Owner experience, specifically in delivering Product Management artifacts (Roadmap, Product Specifications, Feature Backlogs, Product Descriptions etc.)

 

Skills (should-have):

- Experience with QA/Test automation suites or Service Desk tooling, indicating a readiness to expand the product portfolio into these areas

- Experience of stakeholder management and communication in a large organizational setting
