We are currently looking for an SAP BTP developer (m/w/d) in nearshoring.

Location: 100% remote – EU timezone

One of the focus topics for our team is to provide a SAP development Platform, so that we enable other teams to contribute to the program as well. We search for an experienced Software Engineer to drive key concepts in our backend. Core element of the backend is an open-source project. It is a reactive dataflow engine, a data stream processing framework using the Vert.x toolkit.
Responsibilities
- Drive topics around data persistence and consumption in backend
- Drive improvements around system connectivity and data exchange protocols (OData)
- Evaluate and improve tools to support operational efficiency, reliability, and observability
- Act as a Developer on Duty depending on calendar schedule during working time
Required Skills & Experience
- Very experienced in software development for production applications in Java (11+)
- Understanding of reactive and asynchronous programming concepts
- Implementation of integration design patterns, especially in a microservices or event-driven architecture
- Building and tuning large-scale, high-performance web applications
- Experience with Vert.x (or similar frameworks, e.g., Akka)
- Experience in SAP BTP
- Understanding of the OData specification (Open Data Protocol)
- Experience with Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes, Docker, or other container technologies
- Experience in OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana
- Experience in Helm chart authoring
- Comfortable working with testing frameworks (JUnit 5 is a plus)
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- DevOps mindset with hands-on infrastructure skills
