For our client we are looking for a Cloud Native Data Architect (f/m/d)
 
Start: asap
Duration: 3 months, + wish for a long-term prolongation
Capacity: 100%
Location: 75% Remote, 25% Frankfurt or Berlin (1 week Frankfurt / 3 weeks remote in rotation), up to 50% onsite in peak times
Language: English is a must, German is a plus
 
Role:
Cloud Native Application Governance (CNAG) is responsible for defining iteratively the various Governance Frameworks that apply to the Tenant applications on the Platform. The CNAG is a part of a large project and is providing consultancy service to program Tenants & Architecture. On one side the responsibility is to translates the product vision and product specification into the reference architecture & operating model and on the other side complementing and prop up the Product Management work to define the roadmap of services.
 
Objectives / Tasks:
- Perform Data Landscape Discovery and Assessment
- Define and Implement the platform's Data Governance Framework
- Establish Data Quality Standards and Data SLO (Service Level Objectives) Model
- Develop the Data Platform Concept and Architecture
- Produce Governance and Architecture Documentation
- Define Data Architecture Reference Patterns and Guardrails
- Conduct Workshops and Stakeholder Coordination
- Support Platform Roadmap and Governance Evolution
 
Skills (must-have):
- Expertise of data architectures (incl. data quality and data SLOs) in the context of cloud-native and distributed environments and the ability to articulate data concepts to different audiences
- Proven experience in establishing Data Governance Framework for applications running in a private or public cloud
- Deep knowledge and experience with the following:
o Relational Databases (eg: PostgreSQL)
o NoSQL Databases (eg: MongoDB, Cassandra)
o Time series Databases (eg: TimescaleDB, InfluxDB)
o Graph Databases (eg: Neo4j)
o Data Warehouse and Data Lake architectures
o Messaging/Data Streaming Systems (Apache Kafka)
- Data processing and workflows (eg: Spark, Dagster, Apache Airflow, etc)
- Strong knowledge of data security and the ability to specify at an architectural level the security best practices that must be incorporated when working with Data (encryption, access control, data classification and compliance, etc)
- Proven experience in helping development teams navigate the CAP theorem with trade-offs when choosing data storage technologies
- Expertise in addressing and communication with different groups of stakeholders, including the ability to convey complex technical concepts in an easy-to-understand manner.
 
Skills (should-have):
- Relevant certifications in cloud and cloud native technologies
- Understanding about the principles of Data Mesh & data products
