Project Description

The Azure IoT Platform is a critical foundation for multiple digital products with cloud connectivity, realtime telemetry processing, device integration, data harmonization, and backend services. Delivery has become increasingly complex due to cross-team dependencies, parallel priorities, resource constraints, and the need to coordinate platform changes across Cloud Core, Cloud Fast Track, TDC-integrations, and realtime processing.
We are seeking an experienced Delivery Manager / Technical Program Manager who strengthens end-to-end delivery management across Azure IoT Platform workstreams. The role orchestrates initiatives across teams, dependencies, releases, and risks – but does not replace Product Owners, Engineering Leads, Architects, DevOps, or QA.

Tasks

  1. Integrated Delivery Management: Establish a delivery plan across all workstreams; track milestones, dependencies, blockers, risks, and release commitments; ensure transparency; identify critical-path items and delivery risks early.
  2. Cross-Team Coordination: Coordinate dependencies between teams; ensure clear accountability; regular alignment on key initiatives; improve handovers.
  3. Release & Readiness Management: Integrated release planning for platform changes; track scope, test, and deployment status; prepare release-readiness reviews; communicate late changes and risks; post-release follow-up.
  4. Quality & Risk Management: Ensure quality requirements in delivery planning; track integration, regression, smoke, and performance tests; surface missing test coverage and production risks; maintain RAID log (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Decisions).
  5. Stakeholder Communication: Clear, fact-based delivery status updates; translate technical risks into business and operational impact; establish single source of truth; weekly management-ready reports.
  6. Operating Model Improvement: Identify recurring delivery challenges; define lightweight governance models; improve delivery meetings and escalation paths; establish templates.

Scope of Work

The Delivery Manager supports delivery across Cloud Core, Cloud Fast Track, TDC-integrations, backend services, realtime telemetry processing, stream processing, event-driven components, data persistence changes, device-to-cloud integration, release coordination, and cross-component quality. Scope includes planned roadmap items and unplanned topics such as operational issues, business requirements, technical debt, quality gaps, and release risks.

Deliverables

  1. Integrated Azure IoT Platform Delivery Plan
  2. Release Readiness Overview
  3. RAID Log (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Decisions)
  4. Dependency Tracker
  5. Weekly Management Status Reports
  6. Delivery Operating Model Recommendation

Required Experience & Skills

Must-Have:
  1. Strong experience as Delivery Manager, Technical Program Manager, or Senior Project Manager in complex cloud/platform environments
  2. Experience with Azure-based platforms and cloud-native delivery
  3. Good understanding of IoT, event-driven architectures, realtime data processing, and DevOps
  4. Coordination of multiple engineering teams across product, platform, architecture, QA, DevOps, and operations
  5. Ability to understand technical risks and drive fact-based escalations
  6. Strong experience in release, dependency, and risk management and stakeholder communication
  7. Ability to create structure and transparency in ambiguous environments with parallel priorities
  8. Strong communication skills with technical teams and senior management
  9. Pragmatic, hands-on, and structured working style
  10. Fluent English (required – project language)

Nice-to-Have:
  1. Industrial IoT or large-scale telemetry platform experience
  2. Azure IoT Hub, Event Hub, Stream Analytics, Azure Functions, Cosmos DB
  3. Enterprise platform delivery in global organizations
  4. Distributed internal and external delivery teams
  5. Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence
  6. Architecture governance and quality gates
  7. German language skills
